What to do with your Christmas cards…
The great big decoration pack down is upon us! Our attics, garages and other storage nooks are being refilled with our festive merchandise!
But what do you do with those Christmas cards? If your local councils don’t accept greetings cards in their usual recycling collections, the cards adorned with Robins, Rudolf, Santa and Snow are usually thrown in our general rubbish bins. This year however there are tons of ways to recycle all those seasons greetings:
Take them shopping – Most supermarkets have large containers for your greetings cards, Marks and Spencer stores have collection bins (as if anyone needed another a reason to visit M&S)!

Go all “Martha Stewart” – If you don’t mind a bit of glue and glitter, Martha Stewart gives tons of craft ideas for using up your Christmas cards here.
The tree…
If you don’t have the space or the time to chop your Christmas tree down and use it in your garden or log burner, then there are plenty of organisations who would love your old Christmas tree!
Local Councils – Many local councils will collect your Christmas tree from your curb side – if you haven’t received any leaflets, notes on your bins or any emails notifying you of collection dates give them a ring to find out if they do collect them. Most councils will chip them and use them in woodlands, parks and recreational areas!
RecycleNow.com – Once again this handy little internet tool comes to the rescue! Type in your postcode, select Christmas Tree from the menu on the left and they will tell you exactly where you can take your Christmas tree!
How ever you ditch the decorations this January, be sure to recycle as much as you can!
