The client wanted to use the surplus Biogas on site to produce heat for a new critical process on site. the new process required 600kw of LTHW. We delivered a pre-packaged Biogas / oil boiler to provide base heat from Raw Biogas and backup heat using Oil.
1 600kw dual boiler with fully modulating Biogas / Oil burner, stand alone pressurisation system, Biogas booster, flame arrester, gas meter, Oil tank and fuel delivery pump. Local control panel for integration to wider site PLC.
600kw of LTHW at 85ºC delivered to a sludge heat exchanger Via 304 stainless steel pipework and Grundfos loading pumps. The heat demand is variable and so controlled with a blended heating control valve. The system runs at max 3bar water pressure. The sludge is pumped out of a holding tank to the digester tank via the water to sludge heat exchanger.
Our clients were installing a new process, on their Bournemouth wastewater site, to break down the ammonia present with one of the waste streams.
Deep marine bacteria is used to consume the ammonia and the 600kw of hot water is used to heat the liquid waste to allow the active growth of the bacteria.
