Originally used solely for agriculture, our client’s site has now been developed into a multipurpose space with commercial buildings that have a variety of uses and new heat demands.
Home to green-waste process and the round timber is processed into virgin woodchip which provides fuel to the biomass system.
Heat is delivered to the surrounding buildings via an underground heat main. The system holds capacity for future development which will include cold stores and greenhouses.
The site is off-grid from the natural gas network and so would have to use alternative fossil fuels so with their own supply of fuel coming onto site from the green waste process, biomass was the obvious choice to meet the heat demand.
