Plant Room

  • 2no. Froling TM 500kw wood chip boilers
  • 10,000L buffer
  • 2no. 6m x 6m fuel stores with auger and agitator fuel feed systems
  • Lauber Lenz 1mw bulk dryer with duct system
  • Heat network including 300m of pre-insulated underground pipe

Heat Usage

  • Heat is delivered to domestic properties for domestic hot water and space heating.
  • Dairy bulk tank wash down and hot water cleaning of equipment and parlour.
  • Lenz dryer for drying of wood chip fuel.

More Information

The client requested a low carbon system that would replace the existing oil-fired boilers and electric heating that was dated and inefficient.

In addition, they had identified a demand for biomass woodchip fuel in the local area and wanted a system that would also provide wood chip drying for approx. 5,000tons of wood chip per annum.

Shaw Renewables designed and installed the system using the highest available standard of plant and equipment to deliver a reliable and long-term solution that will take care of the farm business heat needs and the additional wood chip expansion.
