Supporting projects developing low carbon propulsion capability in the UK

A £20m investment fund has been created by APC12 to support projects developing low carbon propulsion capability in the UK, including storage.

Applications are being accepted from 7th January 2019 from UK based later-stage R&D projects that need funding for their work  with long-term supply chain and associated capabilites in the design, build and manufacture of low and zero tailpipe-emission capable vehicles.

Projects must help make capabilities a permanent part of the UK supply chain. They must be in the following areas:

  • electric machines and power electronics
  • energy storage and energy management
  • lightweight vehicle and powertrain structures
  • alternative propulsion systems
  • thermal propulsion systems

Projects must have a proven technology concept and demonstrate that there is a clear route to market, with the primary technology application being automotive.

Applications close on the 6th March 2019.
